2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan
Notice of Public Outreach: Issues, Needs, and Potential Improvements
The Terre Haute Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (THAMPO) will be hosting a public outreach meeting to discuss the multi-modal transportation system in Vigo County. The meeting aims to gather valuable inputs and insights from the local community on transportation infrastructure, including roadways, transit, bike/ped facilities, and more.
THAMPO is developing its Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) for 2050, a 20-year range plan. This plan will guide federal transportation funding to plan and implement transportation improvements for the THAMPO region through 2050. To support the development of the 2050 MTP, a series of public meetings will be held, and all citizens are welcome to attend and participate.
Please help inform the local community of their opportunity to join us to identify transportation issues and needs and share their ideas on potential improvements. Their local knowledge and experience are vital in determining the region’s future investments in the transportation infrastructure. This will be the second in-person Public Outreach Meeting.
WHAT: Public Meeting #2 (in-person meeting)
WHERE: 900 Wabash Avenue, 2nd Floor Conf, Room, Terre Haute, IN 47807 (Entrance located on 9th St.)
WHEN: 4 - 6 pm, Thursday, January 11, 2024
A concurrent online survey is also available to collect comments. You can access the survey using this link (https://veravoicesurvey.com/terre-haute). The survey includes two parts:
- A map-based survey. It allows you to provide location-specific input to identify transportation issues, needs, and improvement ideas.
- A questionnaire survey. It seeks your opinion on which factors deserve the greatest consideration as we analyze data that will be used to establish priorities for transportation improvements in our region.
The survey will remain open until February 1st, 2024 and only takes about 10 minutes to complete. If you have any question about the 2050 MTP, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
